Aura Music and Arts Festival III: Artist Additions and New Web Interface

Just when you thought the hit homegrown Florida music event of the year could not get any better, the guys over at Aura Music Events (AME) dropped a fresh new website and a dozen artist additions to the Aura Music & Arts Festival.

The list is not your typical round of additions, and boasts a top heavy and eclectic mix of talent ranging from new age funk to live band electronica. Most impressive is Brother's Past sliding into a headlining slot and super group Kung-Fu bringing the likes of Todd Stoops of Raq, Tim Palmierl and Andrian Tramantono of The Breakfast, Dave Livolsi of Jazz Is Dead and Rob Somerville of Deep Banana Blackout to the table. That set will be a barn burner from top to bottom, but will not be your only chance to catch Stoops in a collaboration, as he will also be joined by Eli Winderman of Dopapod and Scotty Zwang of Sonic Spank as the Bang Bang outfit. The year of the ivory keys is in full effect.

Last year the sleeper set of the weekend came from the ever enigmatic Zoogma. Keeping their calling card true to form, the live electronic up and comers escaped the initial artist announcement, only to come as a welcomed surprise this time around. The dance party junkies will continue to get their fill, and then some, with bump masters FLT RSK, The Mantras and Ep3.

It wouldn't be Aura Music & Arts Festival without some local love, and AME serves up the best and brightest the state of Florida has to offer. High energy funksters Fusik, big band reggae all-stars the Resolvers, genre blending blues chemists Saltwater Grass and live band hip-hop from ArtOfficial are only the tip of the iceberg. Not only is there something for everyone, but their is something new for anyone. Throw in the mind behind the Aura art design, Marc PaperScissor, doing an acoustic set with some friends, dynamic lyrical troop Green Sunshine stirring up some good energy, and foot-stomping-good bluegrass from The Short Straw Pickers rounds out the genre exploration at this cozy annual event that is quickly becoming a staple for music connoisseurs that want to keep an ear to the Florida beat. I am all in!

Head on over to the new page for more information and sounds from the artist as well as information on tickets, location and much more.
