The Heavy Pets Four Day Run 2011.10.13 - 2011.10.16 Roxy's Pub West Palm to The Green Parrot Bar Key West, FL

By Ariane B. Davis
The Heavy Pets are back in town! Despite grinding through an extensive East Coast tour the past two months, with stops at The Bowery Ballroom in New York City and The Blockely in Philadelphia, this weekend the boys are jumping in head first with a four day, multi-show run down the coast of Florida.

Things kick off today with  a noon set for the University of Miami Patio Jams at the University Center Patio on the Coral Gables campus. After giving the Hurricane fans a self-proclaimed "banger", the Pets pack it up and head North to West Palm Beach for a return to their infamous Thursday night residency at Roxy's Pub on Clematis Street. Continuing a legacy of scorchers atop the 10@2 Saloon Stage, the shows starts at 10 PM and will push late into the night.

No rest for the ragers and the true to form hardest working band in South Florida takes the party to the Southernmost tip for another installment of their two-night run at The Green Parrot Bar in Key West. Friday offers up a "Soundcheck" set at 5 PM before the jam mavericks throw down two more late night sets in the Conch Republic. Saturday affords some down time in the tropical paradise before the jam-a-thon party blazes through two more sets at the historical and award winning dive bar. Both nights are slated to begin at 10 PM and are notorious for having a large presence of South Florida faithful that are ready to get down.

For those that have an insatiable appetite for all things Heavy Pets, the weekend closes off with a Sunday evening Fury Sunset Sail properly dubbed "Commotion of the Ocean." Tickets for the cruise include open bar with beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres. All aboard by 5:30 PM and the music goes until 8 PM.

After a three day break the guys do a mini-run to Savannah, Charleston and Jacksonville before coming back to The Stage in Miami for the highly anticipated album release party of their acoustic effort Swim Out Past The Sun.

Nine sets, five shows, four days, one band. Welcome back guys and see you on the front lines!
